Sunday School

The disciples often referred to Jesus as "teacher". John Wesley preached that to strengthen our minds is just as important as strengthening our souls. Therefore, we at New Hope understand how important it is to have educational opportunities for people of all ages, from child to adult.

September thru May

Every Sunday, from September to May, we offer Sunday school for all ages, from 9:30 to 10:25 a.m.

  • 3 Year Olds through 4th grade "gather" in the sanctuary at 9:30 a.m. for singing, praying, and mission. At 9:45 a.m. children move to their classrooms for games, crafts, and bible study. Students use the "Exploring Faith" curriculum.
  • 5th & 6th graders meet at 9:30 a.m. for games, crafts, and bible study. Students use the "Tweens in Transition" curriculum .
  • Jr. Highers meet at 9:30 a.m. for games, crafts, and bible study. Students use the "Faith in Motion" curriculum.
  • Sr. Highers meet at 9:30 a.m. for games, crafts, and bible study. Students use the "Bible Lessons for Youth" curriculum.
  • Adults, known as "Carpenters" meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Ruby Chapel. Class has discussions on contemporary issues using book and media resources.

June thru August

Summer Sunday School: This special one-room Sunday School is for children age 3 through second grade (3 year olds must be 3 before June 1 to participate). Summer Sunday School takes place during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Children are dimissed to go to Sunday School after the opening songs.
