Music Ministries
Saint Augustine made the famous quote that "those who sing, pray twice". At New Hope, we have many strong choir programs and opportunities for people of all ages to share their gift of music.
A majority of our music programs meet on Wednesday nights, within TGIW, and perform at least four times during the school year.
Choirs
Cherub Choir - Meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:30 p.m.. This choir is open for Pre-K age children through 2nd grade, and performs at least four times during the school year, including our December Christmas program. Directors: Danielle Jaschen and Michelle Roquet
Jr. Choristers - Meets on Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:00 p.m. This choir is open for 3rd thru 5th grade age children, and begins teaching them how to read and study music. The choir performs at least four times during the school year, including our December Christmas program. Director: Danielle Jaschen
Singin' 4 Christ - This middle school youth choir meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:30 p.m.. From favorite hymns to contemporary praise songs made famous by popular Christian artists, this group sings at least four times during the school year, including our December Christmas program. Director: Eldon Cross
Chancel Choir - Rehearses every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.. Choir regularly sings in 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship, as well as during special worship services, such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday. The choir also leads worship one Sunday, every Advent, in a Christmas Cantata. High school students and adults of all ages are invited to join this fun, wonderful, and talented choir! Bell Choirs
The sound of hand bells can be both awe-inspiring and moving. New Hope is proud to offer a variety of hand bell choirs for adults, youth, and children, as well as for the experienced, and the beginner ringers.
Junior Ringers - Meets on Wednesday evening from 6:00-6:30 p.m., and is open for 3rd thru 5th graders. Children learn about reading music, as well as working together as team in playing a piece of music. Group performs at least four times during the school year, including our December Christmas program. Director: Kristin Welter
Joyful Ringers - Meets on Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:00 p.m., and is open for middle school students, high school students and adults.Group performs at least four times during the school year, including our December Christmas program. Director: Jon Verner
Jubliation Bell Choir - Rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. High school students and adults of all ages are welcome. This group performs several times during the year in worship, as well as for special programs such as our Advent by Candlelight. Beginners and experienced ringers are welcome! Director: Kristin Welter
